I made a deal with my brother a long time ago to never date his teammates.
Technically, Rowan Landry, the hot as hell center for the Chicago Falcons, is no longer my brother’s teammate. Or his best friend. Their college days are long behind them, and they barely talk now.
Also, I’m not dating him—we’re just sleeping together. There’s a difference.
Except there’s not a lot of sleeping going on, and neither one of us wants to stop what we’re doing.
It’s all fun and games until my brother is traded to the Falcons, because Rowan doesn’t know I’m the new goalie’s little sister. Oops.

In this installment, we meet Rowan Landry, a celebrated hockey player for the Chicago Falcons, and Leigh Nilsen, a bridal gown designer. Their worlds collide at a friend’s wedding, igniting an instant and powerful connection. Although Leigh is aware of Rowan’s reputation, he’s oblivious to the fact that she’s the sister of his college roommate. The very roommate who has a strict rule against his sister dating hockey players. Despite their resolve to keep things to a single night, destiny seems to have a different agenda. A single encounter with the forbidden is all it takes for them to realize they crave more. The question remains: Can Rowan persuade Leigh that their connection is more than just physical, and how will he react when he discovers her true identity?

“Mr. Heartbreaker” proved to be a captivating novel. The protagonists shared an undeniable chemistry that transcended mere physical attraction.  However, they were both scared of admitting their true feelings.  The story’s charm was amplified by their adorable first encounter and the delightful events that ensued. Their exchanges were a treasure trove of wit and ardor, thus highlighting their perfect compatibility.

Kyleigh’s talent for keeping her brother and Rowan in the dak amazed me. Yet, as she would soon find out, secrets and lies tend to unravel at the worst possible moments. The supporting cast brought a rich layer of humor and wisdom to the story. However, Kyleigh’s brother didn’t win me over. His  reaction to his sister’s affair with Rowan felt excessive.

Having the opportunity to experience the audiobook was a treat. The narrations by Erin Mallon and Sean Masters, supported by a talented cast, truly animated the narrative and characters, elevating the enjoyment of the story.

This was a great start to the series, and with that ending, I eagerly await book two.
